Who Are We?

LIFE YOUTH CHARITY

Founded in 2013, with the sole purpose to impact at-risk youth within our community by providing resources and education. LIFE Foundation has grown from a black youth-led non profit organization, affecting primarily Toronto communities, into LIFE Youth Charity, now reaching many communities across the GTA. With our educational incentive programs we help youth ages 4 – 17, who share our lived experiences, succeed and grow into extraordinary adults.

Our Educational Incentive Programs

Programs designed to help underprivileged and racialized youth realize and reach their goals through education and mentorship.

CALL

Youth work with mentors to develop an action plan designed to help them set goals and achieve them. While following this plan they receive resources like high quality training and tutoring from certified coaches and teachers that prepare them for post secondary programs.

ARTISTIC RISECOLLABORATION

ARC

Youth are mentored by professional artists, learning industry techniques and developing Master Guilds to help them transition into the arts and media industries. Youth and their peers complete collaborative workshops taught by professionals in a safe environment, helping to nurture confidence and creativity.

REGEN

Youth learn the positive aspects of the black community and its history in hopes to combat racism within our community, while providing positive role models and vital life skills. Through positive reinforcement and self-love, we aim to dismantle negative stereotypes and barriers that plague the black community.

Our Community Initiatives

Initiatives created to ensure everyone can participate regardless of circumstance.

SUMMER CAMP

Offering young people ages 6 to 13 a safe space to learn and play during the summer months, regardless of financial barriers. There is something for everyone - from sports and games to crafts and DIY projects. Campers benefit from our weekly Life Skills sessions and free healthy snacks daily.

LIFE SKILLS

Youth develop the skills needed to empower themselves for the future through engaging speakers, mentors and teachers. Youth learn skills vital to becoming successful adults in a safe and inclusive environment alongside their peers.

DROP IN

Offers young people ages 4 to 12 a safe space to learn interpersonal skills, engage in extracurricular activities, receive school assistance, tutoring and mentorship. We offer various team building and skill developing with fun and creative activities every second Friday evening for the duration of each school year.
